On Saturday, President Trump ordered military strikes against Venezuela and captured President Nicolas Maduro. Not in response to an attack on America. Not to protect American lives. But because Trump wants the oil.

Since then, Maduro pleaded not guilty to federal charges, the UN condemned the operation as violating international law, and Trump doubled down — meeting with oil executives this week to “get the oil flowing.”
This is a fundamental betrayal of everything MAGA claims to stand for.
And he’s threatening to do it again if Venezuela “doesn’t behave” — while simultaneously issuing warnings and threats against Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Iran, and even Greenland (which would mean confronting Denmark, a NATO ally, and by extension the EU).
Let that sink in.
Remember “America First”? Remember “no more endless wars”? Remember when Trump supporters railed against interventionism and nation-building?
HELP US REACH MORE FOLKS LEAVING MAGA
That was supposed to be the whole point. People aren’t going to stand for this as conditions in the U.S. deteriorate.
Even MAGA pollster Rich Baris sees what’s coming, telling Politico:“Trump will likely get a small bump due to the rally around the flag effect…then reality will set back in, and voters will be asking themselves who has a plan to make THEIR lives better.”
He’s right. The initial patriotic fervor will fade, and Americans will wake up asking: How does bombing Venezuela make MY life better?
How does threatening half of Latin America lower my grocery bills? How does antagonizing multiple countries simultaneously — from our neighbors to NATO allies — make America safer or stronger?
Rep. Thomas Massie — a true conservative — is already calling this out. “Wake up MAGA,” he wrote. “VENEZUELA is not about drugs; it’s about OIL and REGIME CHANGE. This is not what we voted for.”
And he’s facing backlash for it, which tells you everything about where MAGA has gone.
When speaking the truth about reckless military intervention gets you attacked by Trump loyalists, we’ve lost our way completely.
This is the wake-up call many of us need.
Trump isn’t putting America first. He’s putting Trump First — his ego, his impulses, his need to look “tough” regardless of the consequences for actual Americans.
