Last night, a Republican won a dark-red seat in the special election held to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene. No surprise, right?
But that’s not the whole story.
The rest of the story is that Democrats just posted the largest swing of Trump’s entire second term.
In 2024, Trump didn’t just win GA-14. He won it by 37 percentage points. MTG got in with a 29-point margin. But the winner last night, Clay Fuller? He won by just 12.
GA-14 has swung a staggering 25 points away from Trump.
That’s real data, hard proof: MAGA support is cracking.
Democrats also saw a massive swing and a win on the Wisconsin Supreme Court last night.
Liberal Chris Taylor won the open seat by over 20 points, locking in a 5-2 majority on the court until at least 2030.
That represents a 21-point shift from the 2024 Presidential results in Wisconsin — another solid data point that demonstrates what we here at Leaving MAGA have been saying.
Trump is losing his base.
Something major is happening.
Yesterday, as we all waited to see whether Trump would follow through on his terrifying and disturbing threats to “wipe out a whole civilization,” I was overwhelmed with guilt for my years of supporting MAGA.
I had to remind myself that days like these — days when Trump demonstrates just how dangerous he truly is — are exactly why I’m doing the work I’m doing, and why all of us here at Leaving MAGA are building this organization into a safe space for ex-MAGA supporters to land.
Yesterday was yet another day that filled the public with dread, and doubtless led many Trump supporters to question their allegiance to him.
A day like yesterday would be a perfect day for someone in doubt to encounter a Leaving MAGA billboard or an article about our work.
This work matters.
And last night’s elections show we’re getting somewhere.
If people in one of the reddest corners of America are turning away from MAGA, we know for sure that it’s happening all across the country.
There are people at this crossroads in every county, every district, every town across the USA. We need to make sure they know that when they’re ready to leave, Leaving MAGA is ready for them.
